Welcoming the Year of the Earth Dog

The international Sacred Fire Community is pleased to announce a special Fire in honor of the 2018 Tibetan New Year, which will take place on March 3, 2018 in Tepoztlán, Mexico.

Since 2002, Grandfather Fire has held a special audience fire each year just after the Tibetan New Year. This year the Tibetan New Year (and Chinese New Year) is on February 16, and the audience will be on March 3, allowing people a time to feel into the energies of the year before hearing about it.

This tradition arose because of the connection many in the Tepoztlán Sacred Fire community have with Shambhala, which shares a similar aspiration to bring connection and societal healing to our world in these difficult times. The Tibetan calendar moves in 60-year cycles, or rabjams, during which it cycles through the combinations of the 12 animals with the 5 elements. This outlines a large cycle of life that affects our entire world.
