Sacred Fire, Prosperity Ritual, Corn Planting, Tepoztlan, Mexico

Some types of prayer require making a 1000+ mile journey, by car and plane, over land and water, which is exactly what Sacred Fire executive director Larry Messerman just did when he traveled from Atlanta, GA (USA) to Tepoztlán, Mexico.  On June 13, Larry joined representatives from the Sacred Fire Foundation, the Blue Deer Center, the local Sacred Fire Community, the Plant Spirit Medicine Association and two traditional healing path groups to plant corn as part of an annual Prosperity Ritual.

In its fifth year, it can be said that the careful planting, tending and harvesting of the corn is, essentially, a summer-long prayer asking that vital resources be made available so that the participating groups can fulfill their important work in the world.  We are grateful and buoyed by how these prayers are being answered: thank you to all of you who have supported us over the years to bring more Fire to our people.
