The 2020 momentum and excitement is building. A new season of Fire Speaks events, each centered around an audience with Grandfather Fire, is on the horizon. The opportunity to experience, first-hand, the wisdom and transformative energy of the Spirit of Fire in this unique way is a time-limited gift and not to be taken for granted.

Mark your calendars for a Fire Speaks in honor of the Tibetan New Year, in Tepoztlán, Mexico, on February 29; and for two California (USA) Fire Speaks events, in Santa Monica, on March 14, and at Mt. Tamalpais on March 21.

You’re Not In This Alone: Come to Our Women’s and Men’s Gatherings!

Amidst all of the hustle and bustle and busy-ness of your life, are you feeling alone? Is your heart and spirit longing for a deeper purpose, a more rewarding connection with others?

Around the world and throughout the ages, women have gathered with women, and men have gathered with men over shared activities or a big job well-done…when there is a need to be listened to, acknowledged, encouraged…when there are life events to be celebrated…when big changes are happening in the world, and fresh perspective is needed.

Sacred Fire provides multi-day opportunities for women and men to gather in beautiful locations, led by respected tradition-holders with important wisdom to impart. We invite you to attend Ukalái (Annual Gathering of Women) and Ukilái (Annual Gathering of Men).

Even if you’ve attended these gatherings before, consider gifting yourself or your partner this experience regularly; indeed, annually. Then, return renewed and inspired to tackle the day-to-day challenges that life presents to you.

Taking Time to Grow Ourselves

There is such richness when we are witnessed and supported by community, as we learn and grow into what it is to be human, through the various stages of life. Sometimes community comes in the form of a pop-up “village,” during a profound time spent together over several days.

Gift yourself with one of the following opportunities to take some time “out of time” to remember and rediscover something essential about yourself. See the Sparks (events) section below for a list of upcoming Men’s and Women’s annual gatherings.

Sacred Emergence, which supports initiation into adulthood for young women, will take place July 26-August 2. Applications are due by February 15, 2020.

Warmth and Wisdom to Transform the Cold

Sacred Fire’s unique and transformative remedy for the challenges of the human condition was our focus during the annual Sacred Fire organization summer meetings this past August 2019. It’s hard to express the magic all of us feel when devoting ourselves to opening the way for meaning and warmth to fill the cultures and communities that gather around our fires. The only thing we can say is, come join us in this Great Endeavor!

Do you feel called to help in this work that’s so relevant to our times? Many hands and hearts brighten the work, and we’d love to help you discover how your unique talents can be warmly received.

Four Girls Become Young Women Through Sacred Fire’s Initiation

The Sacred Fire Lifeways Women’s Initiation Council is proud to announce that four young women were initiated into adulthood on July 13, 2019.

We wish to acknowledge the learning and hard work that they accomplished and to introduce them: Calista from Ontario (CANADA); Dale from New York (USA); Emma from North Carolina (USA); and Myisha from Massachusetts (USA)

We also wish to acknowledge our outstanding staff of 10 women and four men who supported the week-long ritual: Amber Van Cleave, Andrea Jacobson, Angela Ocone, Jane Jackson, Jen Collins, Katarina Diss, Katie Troy, Leah Watterson, Sherry Morgan, Wendy Kaas, Adam Laufer, Colin Lenhart, Eduardo Deneke, and Gary Weidner. It takes a village to do this work and hold the space for transformation to occur. Thanks to Paige Schlake, Heidi Griswold, Cassandra Starks, and Laurie Perla of the Grand Junction community. And thanks to those who supported this work through your donations and community fires.

Sacred Emergence: Initiation into Adulthood for Young Women is offered in the summertime. Are you or someone you know age 16-24? Applications are accepted year-round.

There’s still time to sign up for Fire Speaks in Massachusetts!

The Concord, Massachusetts (USA) Sacred Fire community is busy preparing to host Fire Speaks on August 24. This is an opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy the company of long-standing ones; to spend time connecting, listening to drumming, sharing and slowing down enough to savor relationships with each other. In the evening, after a shared meal and afternoon activities, those gathered will hear and feel the wisdom and recalibrating presence of “Grandfather Fire,” as He responds to questions about how humans can meet their challenges and move through life in a good way.

Sacred Fire Outreach: Interested in joining our team?

The Sacred Fire Outreach production team is tight-knit and devoted to the work at hand, which is to extend the invitation for modern human beings to come to the fire once again. We love it, and you will, too! Do you want to help people get off the computer and TV and experience the laughter, sharing, transformation and healing medicine of Fire?

Right now, we have two specific needs: 1) Transcriptionist: someone who is willing to take video and audio content and transcribe to text, so we can use elements of that for written work. 2) Fire Story Content Manager: ideal for someone who likes to engage with people creatively. This is a fun role for someone organized, dedicated, and great at seeing a project through from start to finish. You will get to reach out and ask people to talk about how they have been touched and changed by community fires and Sacred Fire’s other fiery offerings, working with them to bring their short Fire Stories to completion.
